More fun...

MORE SNOW, BUT NOT COMPLETELY SNOWED IN...

Here are some more pictures of our epic snowstorm! Although we are fine here, it must be very difficult for some of the elderly people who live alone. My heart goes out to the homeless people as well. I am also disappointed because it looks like Bryce will not be able to get here for Christmas, but that's ok, we can postpone the gift giving. Christmas is not about the gifts anyways, and I am grateful to be spending time with my family.

Less than a week until Christmas!

My winter vacation is going by quickly so I am making the most of it. As a result of the weather I have been stuck at home most of the time, which has allowed lots of time for knitting, sipping tea and watching the food channel. I also continue to contemplate my future plans, but as my mother pointed out, I may not be ready to make a decision about grad school for another 6 months or more. For the mean time I try not to think to much about it and enjoy the time I have with my family.

I have also been cooking and baking a lot to keep busy. I have made homemade soups, stew and tonight spaghetti and meatballs. Later this weekend my Mom and I plan to make some sugar cookies and the date cookies that my Dad loves so much. I will try and post the recipe if I can, that way my readers (if there are any) can make their own date cookies.

In other news...

This winter storm has been incredible. This is the most snow we've had in years in the Portland Area! I was glad that I went home on Sunday, because I barely beat the roughest part of the storm. However, I still could not get my car up the hill we live on until the next day. It has been thoroughly entertaining to watch the news broadcasts and listen to news anchors dramatize the storm. The also have an uncanny ability to drag out the details, so that you have to watch the entire broadcast to find out what the forecast is for the next day. Finally, it is amazing to think that on the east coast people don't freak out until there's atleast 3 or 4 FEET of snow! They are much better prepared for snowstorms and learn to deal with the inconveniences that result because of the snow. My mom's side of the family that live in Buffalo and Boston, think it is hysterical that West Coast people freak out over a couple of inches of snow.

Two weeks of school left!

Well as fun as the Thanksgiving break was it made me even less motivated for the last two weeks of school! I had a wonderful time spending time with my parents and my brother. Mom cooked an awesome dinner on Thanksgiving and we stuffed our faces! I can't wait to be home for an entire month!

My parents also helped reassure me that I would figure out what I wanted to do with my life. They encouraged me to journal so that I'm not constantly mulling over things in my mind. I am still torn about what to study for a Master's, but I have another year to figure it out. We also had some important discussions about marriage and what I want out of life. Their advice and support made me feel a lot better about where I am currently.

Besides contemplating life and school, not much else is going on. I'm looking forward to Christmas Break so very much.
