If you're not a tea person, this blog post isn't for you.
To aid my recent weight loss efforts, by curbing afternoon sugar cravings, I have begun drinking more tea. It is very relaxing to enjoy a nice cup of tea. And I mean really enjoy it...like with frilly tea cups and a teapot. My main tea of choice is either an earl grey or a licorice spice tea made by stash. Aside from curbing afternoon cravings, learning to enjoy tea serves as an excellent example of learning to slow down and be thoughtful, something that becomes increasingly difficult in our culture. I find that it also helps clear my head when I start getting the 3'oclock blah at work.
It is funny how we like things in adulthood that we hated as children. I HATED tea as a kid, but now like a good wine or beer it is really special to enjoy a fine cup of tea. I love sitting at my desk with my little teapot and gold rimmed teacup sipping my tea while I watch the rain fall, which is most days, because it's Oregon. Ha ha.
That is all.

That's awesome, Karen. I used to drink tea nearly every night before bed (Earl Grey being my favourite). I should really start that up again, since it is, as you say, a really good way to curb cravings. I don't have a fancy teapot or anything just yet, but it's still nice to be able to sit down and enjoy it, unlike my morning coffee which I gulp down as quickly as humanly possible since I just want the caffeine in my system. ha.
Can't say I've ever tried licorice tea though- never really liked black licorice as a kid. But then again, maybe my tastes have changed. =)
